Sarah Hatton was born in Louisville, KY in the fabulous year of the Rooster, 1981. She also lived for quite some time in Pittsburgh, PA where she went to Carnegie Mellon for her BFA in Fine Arts: Electronic Media. After Pittsburgh, she moved to Hong Kong for two years and taught English and Arts at schools and activity centers around the Island. Luckily, she was able to rid herself of some wanderlust while in Asia and traveled to places like Thailand and Malaysia where she ate loads of food on a stick. She is very excited to say that she is currently a researcher on the Situated Multimedia Arts Learning Lab, or SMALLab, for the Arts, Media and Engineering program at Arizona State University. Sarah develops visual and audio feedback for the SMALLab, which is, by far, the coolest experiential education system on this side of the Mississippi. Being in an interdisciplinary program, Sarah has quite a few artistic and research interests which include kinetic and reactive sculpture, video and animation, visual culture, educational media, interactive fiction, media theory, virtual reality, web art, telepresence, as well as sewing and set design. Instilling a positive interest for technologies in teen girls is another passion Sarah has and continues to explore. Her favorite video games are still Myst and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? She hopes to receive her MFA in Digital Technology from ASU in 2009.
